I sold my home in July of 2015 and bought another home at the same time in Devils Lake. Not only was getting a loan a hassle but during the time I was selling and buying a home I dealt with three different realtors and neither one was on the same page. After living in the home I purchased only 7 months ago I found out my kitchen had extensive water damage, electrical wiring wasn't up to code, the tile was starting to come up in the entry way, the front door had extensive water damage and starting to rot. I can only imagine what other problems I will find here shortly as I plan on renovating the entry way, kitchen, living room, and starting work in the basement. DO NOT USE THE HOME INSPECTOR'S THEY RECCOMAND!!! How did all this get missed? Yes I used one of the inspector's they reccomanded and all that came back was the home didn't have fire alarms. Sure am glad they collected their fee of $6,800 from me. Needless to say POTENTIAL HOME BUYER's BEWARE!!! I did contact my insurance agent and all I will get is $1,000 due to mold but since this was a pre-existing problem that is all they will cover. I also have tried to contact the person that inspected the home before I bought it with no luck. If you ask me they should refund the realtor dues but that will be a cold day in hell!!!
